I’ve already mentioned the fantastic news that our Iraqi fixer on Escape from ISIS, Hassan Ashwor has been awarded the Martin Adler prize for 2015. Above, you can see his acceptance speech.
Hassan was not only a wonderful colleague to work with, whose contribution made the film what it is, he was also a hilarious joker, a Zen master who took everything in his stride. It gives me great pleasure to see him honoured in this way, by a prestigious organisation like the Rory Peck Trust.
